Pails & Jugs

Pails and jugs come in convenient sizes and shapes for carrying by hand and pouring without wasting product. They are also ideal for storing small quantities of liquid, powder, granulated materials, or small solids. Pails and jugs are versatile, with open tops, tight-fitting lids, or screw caps, and different types of handles and spouts. Because they come in a range of durable materials, they have many uses from storing paint and chemicals, sealing out moisture from dry baking ingredients, mixing thin-set mortar, or safely storing solvents.

At McManus Drum Company, Inc., we offer a range of pails and jugs to meet various needs. Learn more about these products below.

Pails

Industrial pails are built to last, even in harsh environments and with constant use. They are generally sized to be easily carried by one person, and designed to stack efficiently for transportation and storage.

The five-gallon plastic pail is nearly ubiquitous; however, industrial pails are available in many configurations and sizes. Some options include:

  • Sturdy materials including steel or high-density polyethylene (HDPE)
  • Food-grade plastics for dry and wet ingredients
  • Lids to prevent leaks and seal out contaminants
  • One or more handles on the top or sides for safe, comfortable carrying
  • Spouts for easy, controlled pouring
  • Square or round cylindrical shapes for efficient storage and stacking
  • Specialized linings for corrosive or hazardous materials
  • Multiple sizes, generally from one to seven gallons for hand carrying
  • A variety of colors for easy identification and tracking
  • Smooth outer surface for attaching labels
  • Weather and impact-resistant construction

Pails provide benefits in many applications and settings such as:

  • Manufacturing: Paint, resin, lubricants, chemicals, and other industrial materials
  • Construction: Adhesives, paint and stain, mixing container for mortar and grout, and corralling tools
  • Food and beverage: Bulk storage for wet and dry ingredients
  • Agriculture: Water and air-tight storage for seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides
  • Emergency response: Easy access to supplies, equipment, and spill containment

Jugs

Industrial jugs usually have a smaller volume than pails. They are easily hand-carried and are shaped for mess-free pouring. Jugs are generally made of plastic for storing liquids, and are available with many features including:

  • High-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) construction for sturdiness, chemical resistance, and impact tolerance
  • Ergonomic handles for easy carrying and pouring
  • Caps, pumps, and spouts allow for controlled pouring and dispensing with minimal spilling or risk of contamination
  • Cylindrical shape for maximum liquid containment and stability
  • Many sizes available, with the most common being one to five-gallon capacities
  • Lighter weight compared to drums, tanks, and many pails
  • Optional child-resistant caps or tamper-evident seals
  • Smooth outer surface for attaching labels

Jugs have many applications and benefits for different industries such as:

  • Chemical and petrochemical: Solvents, acids, fuel additives, and cleaning solutions
  • Food and beverage: Liquid ingredients such as oils, concentrates, and syrups
  • Water treatment and sanitation: Disinfectants, de-icers, and additive ingredients
  • Automotive: Oil, coolants, windshield washer fluid, and fuel additives
  • Agriculture: Pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers
  • Laboratories and research centers: Chemicals, solvents, reagents, and buffers
